Introducing the 1980Something Alliance

If there is one thing we have learned over the years, it is that communities are built by people.

They are built by friendships formed in chat, moderators who generously give their time, creators who support one another behind the scenes, and viewers who return night after night because they have found a place where they belong.

Over the past several months, our creator community has faced significant change. While the journey has not always been easy, it reinforced something we have always believed: the strongest communities are built through collaboration, trust, and shared purpose.

Those experiences led us to an important decision.

Rather than trying to recreate what existed before, we chose to build something new—something designed around creator independence, mutual support, and community-first values.

Today, we are proud to announce the formation of the 1980Something Alliance.

The Alliance is not a network, nor is it a hierarchy. It is a collaborative group of creators, moderators, and community leaders who believe that everyone benefits when knowledge is shared, relationships are strengthened, and communities work together.
